Today Squeakles played with his toys quietly for like, all day. I don't even know how long he was happy to play quietly by himself, and even if I had noted the time, I wouldn't want to tell you and make you all jealous, because it was a loooooooong time.
He sat on a futon mattress we have laid out on the living room floor and rumaged through a little plastic bin full of toys.
He pulled each one out, one by one, first looking at it, then sucking on it, then fingering all of the details on the toy, and eventually setting it aside and reaching in the bin for the next toy.
Or sometimes, he would play with two toys at once.
He didn't even let exhaustion stop him, not even to put the toy down in order to rub his eyes.
Other things he did today: took a very long nap, crawled (well, one self-propelled push forward, anyway), practiced standing while leaning against the couch, ate half a banana for an afternoon snack and half a carrot for an evening snack, took a nap on me after nursing (while I carefully tried to eat my dinner over him), and babbled (mostly to himself, but also to his toys and to Koji).
